Experience Aquaculture in Practice
In the island municipality of Smøla, you will find our exhibition center and aquaculture facilities. Surrounded by more than 5,800 islands, islets, and skerries, our Fjordprakken and Andholmen facilities are situated in this stunning area.
An Exciting Tour for the Whole Family
A 15-minute RIB ride takes us to the fish pens at an operational aquaculture facility. Here, you can see what happens in practice.
Our high-speed boat accommodates 12 people. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age is 7 years. We provide warm flotation suits, life vests, and goggles. Please bring suitable and practical clothing, a head covering, appropriate footwear, and gloves if needed.
What is an Exhibition License?
An exhibition license is a production permit managed by the aquaculture operator, in this case, Nekton Havbruk AS. This permit requires that arrangements be made for the public to see and learn more about the Norwegian aquaculture industry, both on land and at sea.
An operator is granted permission to produce a certain amount of fish, which in technical terms is called the Maximum Allowed Biomass (MTB). At Nekton Havbruk's exhibition facility, we have been permitted to produce a maximum of 780 tons of salmon at any given time.
